Red Barn Celebrates Earth Day with "Inside Green" Giveaway

To celebrate Earth Day, Red Barn Mercantile is offering everyone who purchases a Cisco Brothers couch or chair during the month of April a free "Inside Green™" upgrade.

Inside Green™ is Cisco Brothers’ method of creating furniture that is 100 percent environmentally sustainable. First, the company uses only Forest Stewardship Council certified wood in its frames. FSC certification ensures the trees are harvested from sustainable legal sources without any negative impact on the environment, while respecting the rights of workers and indigenous communities worldwide.

Inside Green™ also uses only non-toxic materials such as water-based glues, natural latex foam, jute and hemp. All of its fabrics come prewashed in phosphates-free detergents. And, premium natural wool batting makes the collection completely hypo-allergenic.

"Inside Green™ for us is a technology that I hope the end consumer embraces because it’s really going back to nature, it’s using natural materials the earth is giving us to make your furniture, instead of using synthetics," says Cisco Brothers founder and designer Cisco Pinedo.

Upgrading to Inside Green™ usually costs a 20 percent premium, but through the month of April, Red Barn Mercantile is giving away this extra value free.

"Earth Day is a celebration of environmentalism," says Red Barn Mercantile owner Amy Rutherford. "We only have one planet and I believe it’s up to every one of us to find a way to practice the three Rs – reduce, reuse and recycle. I try to practice these beliefs in my business, which is what attracted me to Cisco Brothers.

"Sometimes in retail, you really scratch your head to come up with promotions, but this one seemed so, well, natural: Earth Day and environmentally sustainable furniture, what could be more perfect?" Rutherford said.

All Cisco Brothers’ upholstered pieces can receive the Inside Green™ upgrade. Special orders are available and shipping is available to anywhere in the United States. The free 20 percent Inside Green™ upgrade offer begins April 1 and runs through April 30.

Red Barn Mercantile is an independently owned and operated home furnishing and gift store in the heart of Old Town. The store offers a mix of rustic antiques, conversation pieces and newly manufactured items to provide a whole-room approach to home décor.
