The windows in my house are essentially bare. I’m at a complete loss when it comes to window treatments. This is the biggest design fail in my home. And, it’s the most often asked topic by our customers. Do we do window treatments? Do we sell fabric for window treatments? And, do we know someone who does window treatments? The answers, in order, are no, yes and yes.
One of our go-to window treatment experts is Emily Prugar principle designer and owner of M House Designs. She’s an amazing interior designer who is an expert in window treatments. Emily has worked with the best fabric workrooms and fabricators in DC. Her vast experience is equally matched by her stunning good taste. We are pleased to have her lead a workshop on window treatments on April 26th from 7:00 to 8:30 in the store.
If you are as clueless as I am about window treatments and need a little guidance, this is the workshop for you!
7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.,
Tuesday, April 26.
Red Barn Mercantile,
113 S. Columbus St.,
in Old Town Alexandria.
Learn more about the ins and outs of window treatments for any — and every — room in your house. Emily will answer your burning questions like:
- What is a roman shade and how do I hang it?
- What makes sense in my living room versus my bathroom?
- Can I make a simple rod pocket curtain myself?
As always, we’ll munch on some snacks, sip a little wine and save plenty of time for Q&A. Hope to see you soon!
Emily Prugar has been an interior designer all her life. It started with a dollhouse as it does for most budding designers. With a Masters of Fine Arts from the Corcoran School of Design in her pocket she has been working under her own design shingle, M House Designs, for the last three years. Her work was recently featured on Apartment Therapy and received rave reviews!
