Tatine Question Week #2

Here’s another fun fact about Tatine candles: they are hand poured in a studio in Chicago.

I LOVE Chicago. Other than Washington, DC, Chicago is my favorite major metropolitan city. Now I say this having never visited in the winter, but for me, it’s even better than New York. (Shh, don’t tell anyone. I don’t think you’re really allowed to say that. )

It’s a clean city with great history, art, music and architecture. The lake is beautiful, the neighborhoods are charming and the people are really nice. I’ve loved it since the first time I visited even though my first experience was with a cheap motel where I swear they charged by the hour. But that’s another story for another time.

Preston and I are planning a trip to the Second City hopefully late Spring or early Summer. We are going to take this opportunity to get your good ideas for travelling in Chicago.

So, this week’s question is… What is your favorite place to eat, shop, visit or stay in Chicago? Or, if you have not been there, where would you like to eat, shop, visit or stay in Chicago?

On a related note… the winner from last week’s giveaway is Mary Karstens! Congratulations, Mary!

The architecture boat tour was a great way to see the city, relax, and learn something. 🙂 I also love the jewelry at Nakamol on Michigan Ave. right near the park ( – a lot of unique, affordable pieces. Love, love, love Chicago.

Stop in at RR1 on Ashland – one of my favorite shops in Chicago. It’s in an old apothecary, much of which has been kept intact. All kinds of neat gifts, I always find something even for my impossible-to-shop-for sister. Yes, they carry Tatine candles! The letterpress cards are fabulous.
